American Inventions: The history of how America emerged as the main superpower in the world is about more than just a big military or homeland that is so rich in natural resources that we are able to become the bread basket of the world. There are many forces combined in the American experiments that have made this country so great. One of those great strengths is the phenomenal inventive mind that has graced America since birth. Starting with the strong mind of Benjamin Franklin, the history of discovery that began in America and changed the world is indeed long.

Computers have become so many parts of our lives that we forget that they were found. The history of the development of this "futuristic" device is long and full of genius. The first prototype of a computer actually developed by the Department of Defense, which is strangely the source of many major innovations in American history. But early PC developers included Steve Wozniac, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates who brought computers to the level we know today and made computers as part of our daily lives.

Most discoveries that change the world have a huge positive influence on the quality of life of humankind. But a discovery that did not improve life but destroyed it was also an American invention that changed the world. The discovery, of course, is the Atomic Bomb. Developed by the famous "Manhattan Project", this bomb changes everything about war, diplomacy, and the way the country is interconnected. And to find a positive among all the deaths caused by bombings in Japan, the bomb might be one of the key elements that ended a terrible war, World War II. And in the long run, it is a conflict that the world sighs of relief when it ends.

There is a joke that makes frequent rounds during political jokes that "Al Gore created the internet." If he created it, he would be the inventor of world change for sure. But it is not out of the way to state that America created the internet. Again, the original primitive hoax for what became our modern internet is the work of the American Department of Defense as a measure to ensure that American computer security is maintained by decentralizing networks. From this simple goal, the vast World Wild Web has emerged that has changed everything about how we view communication, information, and knowledge. We have American ingenuity to thank for that.

But of the thousands of American Inventions that have done so much in the fields of medicine, technology, research and communication, nothing can be compared to the discovery of a brilliant thinker named Henry Ford. The discovery, obviously, is a car. Just as with some of the other discoveries we have talked about, we can hardly imagine a time when there is no such thing as a car.

Mr. extraordinary discovery Ford really changed society not only in America but also throughout the world. That's where the expressway system emerges and improvements to how cities are managed and linked together. And even though there are widespread losses from car use, this has become a big leap for America and civilization as a whole. And Mr. Ford, like the inventors we have talked about and thousands who have not, will see the improvement of humanity as their greatest calling. America has received this great calling for centuries and will continue to produce brilliant inventors like this for a long time.
