New York Wildlife

New York Wildlife. New York City may be a forest according to many people, but these animals can be found in many of its zoos. If you want to check out one or more of the many zoos in New York City, I highly recommend buying a city entrance ticket that will allow you to enter free of charge to many regional zoos. Remember that some of the attractions in the zoo will incur additional costs so you have to pay for your day at the zoo, but every little you can save helps and you will be surprised how quickly you can recover your pass fees.

Bronx Zoo
The Bronx Zoo is the largest urban zoo in the US and open 365 days a year. Those who have city pass can enjoy free admission to this zoo. Once you are satisfied with the award-winning exhibition, the Bronx Zoo offers you to check out the New York Botanical Garden, which is located nearby and offers many fun activities for children to avoid (this experience is something else that can be enjoyed at no extra cost with a New York pass). Also nearby are Wave Hill, Brooklyn Art Museum, and Van Cortlandt House Museum. All of these activities are free with the right of New York and all are very suitable for family members of all ages.

Central Park Zoo
Central Park Zoo offers views of animals in their natural habitat rather than in cages. While this is becoming more and more the norm as far as American zoos are concerned, Central Park Zoo is a relative pioneer in this particular process. Today Central Park Zoo offers indoor rainforests; Cold penguin homes along with ponds for polar bears while also being home to breeding programs for certain rare species. While you're there, be sure to have lunch at Leaping Frog Café, which offers child-friendly food that is surprisingly health-oriented (such as trans-fat non-fat fries). If you walk through this 6.5 hectare zoo is not enough for your day, be sure to stop by the bicycle rental area in Central Park, which is located nearby.

New York Aquarium
The New York Aquarium while not a zoo is a great place for families to experience animal life. This happened to be one of the highlights of many trips to New York. Both young and old will enjoy watching sea animals playing while learning important lessons about our sea friends. This aquarium is located on Coney Island and close to Astroland Amusement Park if you want to make it that day. The New York Aquarium offers free entry tickets to holders of the New York Pass and Astroland offers discounts for these holders as well.

Prospect Park Zoo
Prospect Park Zoo offers a unique experience for children to make interactive contacts with more animals. This increased interaction makes travel far more enjoyable for children than many large zoos that allow little interaction with animals or a very limited number of animals to interact. Prospect Park Zoo has more than 400 animals representing more than 80 species. The zoo is located near the Brooklyn Children's Museum, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, and Brooklyn Art Museum - all of which allow free entry for holders of The New York Pass.

Queens Zoo
The Queens Zoo offers a unique experience for visitors because the lake is less than a zoo and is more like a prairie house for its animals. This 12-hectare park is home to 70 animals that live in very authentic habitats. If you choose to visit this zoo, make sure you take the time to visit the barn area so that your little ones can feed some of the more friendly creatures. This zoo is located quite close to the Queens Art Museum, New York Science Hall, and the American Museum of Moving Image. These tourist attractions are all free with the New York Pass.
